Producing Video Content for Microsoft

I still remember the excitement when I got the call from an acquaintance at Grayling Austria; who knew that the ensuing productions would turn out to be some of the most satisfying work I have done in the last years.
I was still working as head of photo & video for a content agency, so my first tasks naturally involved agency work and pre production. After a series of meetings we had a nice plan strung together, the next step was planning productions and scripting. Or rather than scripting: setting up a mental frame around the topics the interviewees would be asked. Due to the nature of the project we did not want to fully script it, I find working with a looser script helps on image film productions. Especially since I cannot really claim to have full on directing experience this framework allowed me to dip my toes into this field too, which has been very fun.
Thanks to my excellent network and great relations with many colleagues in this field setting up production teams was more than easy- it’s a real blessing knowing you have great people that are willing to work on a project with you. Knowing I can rely on people helps when focusing more on directing than on camera work, so on this production I did second camera.
